- Call – Color Feel, Theme of the Month
Response – My Space
By – Mimi Peterson
My Space
The sunlight is loud, It’s noise breaks the silence, Like a comforting blanket, Surrounds me, you, us, With both narrow and broad streams of brilliant sounds, Soon turn into murmurous shadows, At once dark and transparent, Casting familiar silhouettes, Meant to share secrets.
Sharp lines separate sunlight from it’s absence, In my space, geometry’s triangular direction, is softened with whispers, Made by the lucky ones who share bright words, hush real feelings, to face the sun.
The lucky ones who privately sing-song between light and shadow, Sharing sharp angles from their past with future’s flexible forms, Movable shadows like cutouts, now color-filled and childlike, Our visual field shifts as sun shadows rotate, Wait! …I yell at my space, bleached white from wanting to forget.
Return to playtime, Thoughts of tomorrow, Stored nutrition facts, Like hibernating cubs and kittens, You and I will find a warm spot to sleep, To awaken, strong and hungry, because of streaming sunshine.
