Call – 10.5.24 Response – Flubbing Around By – Mimi Peterson
Flubbing Around
It is always a challenge,
To find where to begin,
What to say and do.
Although the list starts short,
Words form in quick succession.
Each a cue of what follows,
Too many additions block lively ambition,
On the list of things to do.
As perceived by the Do-ers,
Waves of light converge black on white
At Ultra Blue.
Mark's on paper shine to show
Todo * means not some, but all.
To do everything that waits since before,
Like debt and dust, accumulate.
Thin layers become hoards,
Some carry over, some wipe away.
Others scatter before drifting together,
Glowing problems do not disappear.
Excuses for neglect grow heavy with mistrust,
Complicated by if , maybe, later.
Indecision looks away, for reasons unknown
to blame the other.
By chance, an anonymous gesture of kindness
Helps liberate feelings of doubt.
Despite serendipitous moments,
Pages of dusty words, unspoken, evolve into
Compromised meanings,
Later expose my spoken self.
* "todo", Spanish meaning everything, all.
