OBSERVATIONS #2

Call: ENVIRONMENT, Theme of the Month

Response: AS IS by Mimi Peterson

These words are intended to present a graphic flow of thoughts – to promote notions of desolution and chaos, to imply order and everyday mundane, to warn that the decomposition of ideas by individuals leads to life-death cycles – to prevent the decline of this fertile environment.

As Is

I woke up at 3 A.M., and still AM, words pulsating in my head, at once, upon a time, now is the hour, for sleep, retreat, take back, numb, hand, shake, awake, say “Good Night, Sweet Prince”, no more, again.

It’s almost 3:15, wide awake, I am WIR #17, prefer 1+7=8, I digress, forward, look ahead, eyes diverted, left to right, fields of vision, view summer scenes, crop from the ground, hopping across earth, gather momentum, berries, beans, broccoli, breath, breathe deep, jump, too high, rest a moment, once again to the sky.

Sly sky, moody hues, clouds mingle, barely blue, sky feels glad, opens windows wide, birds of night ride mango rays, bumping halo moon shadows, life below eclipsed, nature stretches on tiptoes, human steps uproot horizons, waken birds, winged blossoms, purple like dusk, orange at dawn, yellow powder from buttery-flies put sparkle in my eyes.

Follow the sun, spots, transform land and water, contours, seen on an old world map, upside-down, with eyes closed, trace invisible flashes, I know are there, touch invisible lightening, I’m still here, listen for thunder, it will follow, yet to be heard.

Imperfect as it is, it is. mp, 8.10.24
