Writing with purpose

I remember years ago I told my cousin JaJuan Harris that I wanted to take writing poetry, stories, raps, and songs more seriously. He gave me literally the BEST advice a big cousin could give! He told me to make sure that I write with purpose. To not mislead people, be a bad influence, or speak negatively but to give life with my words. It didn’t take long to find my voice, but it took me a while to be confident in my message. It’s easy for me to write meaningless, corrupted, misguided messages to poison the mind and heart of the people… especially the youth. There’s just no substance there. The more I embarked upon my spiritual journey I learned the power of words, influence, the law of attraction, speaking things into existence, and mental programming through repetition. I understood in depth, the wisdom my big cousin had bestowed upon me. I’ve always wanted to heal people, make them feel better, safe, and closer to God. I decided that I can use my voice to speak for those who didn’t have the right words to say. Teach those who don’t understand the power of the tongue, and the power of God. Lead by example with courage, strength and devotion to what I know to be true. This was a vow that I made to myself. A sacred contract that I signed with God. I got my very first tattoo after that moment of clarity. A lightbulb on my writing hand to allow the ideas to flow from my mind unto paper. An Ankh inside the lightbulb, which symbolizes life, to remind me to write with purpose. The word life to assist my words to come into fruition and give hope, meaning, and inspiration to the whomever is reading my work. Choosing this path was easy but not popular. It takes a lot of discipline and trusting God to ensure that my talent for writing is sacred, meaningful, righteous, and POWERFUL. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I vowed that if I was going to tell my story, my perspective and wisdom, that it would be from a place of victory.

Im very excited to share some of my stories, thoughts, poetry and blabbers on this here platform. I pray each individual that tune in could learn something new, maybe become inspired, or receive a revelation. Take what resonate and leave room for allowing yourself to see things from the lens and mind of Earth Talinna, Earth, or Talinna. It’ll be a roller coaster ride of the mind and emotions but it’ll also be intriguing and a learning experience for both I, and the audience.

Truly, Talinna
